Article 1 (Purpose and scope)
① These Terms apply to use of the Service. In these Terms, a “user” means a person who uses the Service, and “travel records” means visited regions, save times, colors, and related information saved by a user on their device.
② The separate Privacy Policy governs the processing of personal information. External services and open-source components may be subject to their providers' terms and licenses.
Article 2 (Features of the Service)
① The Operator provides the following features:
- Manually saving visited regions in Korea and displaying them in color on a map
- Viewing visit records, a collection of regions, and collection progress
- Viewing detailed maps and regional and tourism statistics
- Selecting a random travel destination using Travel Dart
- Sending suggestions or inquiries about the Service through feedback
② Color Block Map is currently free and does not offer sign-up, synchronization between accounts, or paid purchases. Charges for installing or updating the app and using network connections are governed by the user's telecommunications service terms.
③ Visits are recorded when users save them manually, rather than through GPS or on-site verification. Color Block Map records are not official proof that a visit took place.
Article 3 (Saving and deleting records and managing devices)
① Travel records are stored on the user's device. The Operator does not keep them on a separate server and cannot restore them from a server if they are lost through changing or resetting a device, deleting app data, uninstalling the app, or similar actions. Restoration through operating system backups or device transfers depends on the settings and capabilities of those features.
② Users can view records in the collection and delete individual or all visit records. Incorrect records can be deleted and saved again. Deleting all visit records does not reset app lock or other settings.
③ Before changing devices or deleting data, users must check whether the travel records they need have been preserved. This provision shall not be interpreted as exempting the Operator from legal liability for damage attributable to the Operator.
Article 4 (Maps, statistics, and Travel Dart)
① Administrative boundaries, regional information, tourism statistics, and external maps may differ from current conditions depending on the source data and when it was updated. Users must check the necessary current information before making important decisions about travel or transportation.
② Travel Dart is a reference feature that helps select a random destination. It does not check traffic, weather, facility operations, access, or safety, or guarantee that a trip is feasible.
③ Apple Maps, Google Maps, and external links may be subject to the relevant provider's terms. Changes or outages in external services may affect some features. The Operator's liability for matters attributable to the Operator is governed by applicable law.
Article 5 (User obligations)
① Users must comply with applicable law and these Terms and must not infringe others' rights or interfere with the operation of the Service. The following actions are prohibited:
- Distributing malicious code, accessing systems without authorization, or bypassing security features
- Disrupting the Service through excessive automated requests or repeated false inquiries
- Misappropriating or disclosing another person's personal information without permission
- Copying or distributing copyrighted works or software beyond what applicable law or licenses permit
② The Operator may restrict requests or use of features associated with violations to the extent necessary. Where possible, the Operator will explain the reasons for a restriction and how to object. Urgent security measures may be taken before notice is given.
Article 6 (Feedback and inquiries)
① Users may submit suggestions or inquiries about the Service through the in-app feedback feature or the Operator's email address. Feedback submitted in the app is delivered to Slack through the submission server. A reply email address is optional. Users who want an individual reply must provide an email address at which they can receive it.
② Users must provide only information necessary to handle their inquiry and must not submit unnecessary information such as passwords or resident registration numbers, or another person's personal information collected without authorization. The Operator will review and handle submissions but does not guarantee adoption of every suggestion or implementation of features by a particular deadline.
③ If a submission fails or receipt cannot be confirmed, users may resubmit it following the instructions provided by the Service. The Operator may limit excessive repeat submissions to maintain stable operation. The Privacy Policy governs the processing, retention, and deletion of inquiry information.
Article 7 (Changes and interruptions to the Service)
① The Operator may change or temporarily suspend parts of the Service to improve features, address security, maintain equipment, respond to changes in external services, or for unavoidable operational reasons.
② Changes that materially affect use of the Service, or discontinuation of the Service, will be announced in advance in the app or on the website, including the reasons, details, and timing. Where advance notice is impracticable, such as during an urgent outage or security incident, notice will be given without delay when possible.
③ If the Service is discontinued, the Operator will explain the necessary period and methods for users to review and organize records on their devices. Liability arising from changes, interruptions, or discontinuation is governed by applicable law.
Article 8 (Intellectual property)
① Rights in software, designs, and other parts created by the Operator belong to the Operator. Rights in external maps, statistics, open-source components, and other third-party materials belong to their respective rights holders. Saving a record in the app does not transfer the user's rights in that record to the Operator.
② Users may use the app within the permitted scope. Rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute open-source components are governed by their respective licenses. These Terms do not restrict rights granted by those licenses. Relevant licenses are available under 'More → Libraries' in the app.
Article 9 (Protection of personal information)
① The Operator processes personal information in accordance with applicable law and publishes the purposes, categories, retention periods, service providers, overseas transfers, and methods for exercising rights in the Privacy Policy. Publishing these Terms or the Privacy Policy alone does not constitute obtaining consent required by law.
Article 10 (Ending use of the Service)
① Users may stop using the Service at any time by ceasing to use the app and deleting the app or its data. There is no separate account closure procedure.
② Uninstalling the app may result in the loss of travel records on the device. Uninstalling alone does not delete all settings in secure storage, operating system backups, or inquiries, analytics, and error reports already submitted. The Privacy Policy governs deletion of that information and the exercise of related rights.
Article 11 (Liability and dispute resolution)
① If the Operator or a user causes damage to the other through circumstances attributable to them, they are liable under applicable law. The fact that the Service is free does not by itself exempt the Operator from legal liability. Liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence is not limited.
② Inquiries and disputes relating to the Service may be submitted to jthcast@gmail.com. The Operator will review them and cooperate in seeking a resolution. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Jurisdiction over legal proceedings is determined by the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable laws.
Article 12 (Publication and amendment of these Terms)
① These Terms take effect on September 14, 2026. If the Terms change, the Operator will announce the changes, reasons, and effective date in the app or on the website before they take effect. Users will be given sufficient time to review material changes to their rights or obligations. Where separate consent is required, the procedures required by law will be followed.
② A user's failure to object after notice of an unfavorable change does not by itself constitute consent. Users who do not agree to a change may stop using the Service.
③ Current and previous Terms are available through the effective date selector at the top of this page. The only Terms currently published are this first edition.
